‖Ec″ba‐sis (ĕk″bȧ‐sĭs), n. [L., fr. Gr. ἔκβασισ a going out, issue, or event; εκ̓ out + βαίνειν to go.] (Rhet.) A figure in which the orator treats of things according to their events consequences.
