‖E‐nan′ti‐o″sis (?), n. [NL., fr. Gr. � contradiction, fr. εναντἴοσ opposite.] (Rhet.) A figure of speech by which what is to be understood affirmatively is stated negatively, and the contrary; affirmation by contraries.
