Hi‐dal″go (?), n. [Sp., contr. fr. hijo de algo, i.e., son of something; hijo son (fr. LL. filius) + algo something, fr. L. aliquod. Cf. Fidalgo.] A title, denoting a Spanish nobleman of the lower class.
