Hierology

Hi′er‐ol″o‐gy (?), n. [Gr. �; ιερὅσ sacred + � discourse: cf. F. hiérologie.] A treatise on sacred things; especially, the science which treats of the ancient writings and inscriptions of the Egyptians, or a treatise on that science.
