I″on (ī″ŏn), n. [Gr. ιὄν, neut, of ιὤν, p. pr. of ιἔναι to go.] (Elec. Chem.) One of the elements which appear at the respective poles when a body is subjected to electro-chemical decomposition. Cf. Anion, Cation.
