Mo‐noph″y‐site (?), n. [Gr. �; μόνοσ single + � nature: cf. F. monophysite.] (Eccl. Hist.) One of a sect, in the ancient church, who maintained that the human and divine in Jesus Christ constituted but one composite nature. Also used adjectively.
