Phle‐bot″o‐my (?), n. [L. phlebotomia, Gr. �; �, �, a vein + � to cut: cf. F. phlébotomie. Cf. Fleam.] (Med.) The act or practice of opening a vein for letting blood, in the treatment of disease; venesection; bloodletting.
