Plan″ish (?), v. t. [imp. & p. p.Planished (?); p. pr. & vb. n.Planishing.] [OF. planir, F. planer. See Plane, v., and -ish.] To make smooth or plane, as a metallic surface; to condense, toughen, and polish by light blows with a hammer.
