Vinegarroon

Vin′e‐gar‐roon″ (?), n. [Cf. Sp. vinagre vinegar.] A whip scorpion, esp. a large Mexican species (Thelyphonus giganteus) popularly supposed to be very venomous; — from the odor that it emits when alarmed.
