‖Xen′e‐la″si‐a (?), n. [NL., from Gr. ξενηλασία expulsion of strangers.] (Gr. Antiq.) A Spartan institution which prohibited strangers from residing in Sparta without permission, its object probably being to preserve the national simplicity of manners.
