θύω,

[in LXX chiefly for זבח, also for שׁחט, etc.;] as in cl.;

1. to offer first fruits to a god.

2. to sacrifice by slaying a victim, offer sacrifice: Ac 14:13; c. dat. pers., Ac 14:18; id. c. acc. rei, I Co 10:20.

3. to slay, kill: Jo 10:10, Ac 10:1311:7; c. acc. rei, Lk 15:23, 27, 30; pass., Mt 22:4; τὸ πάσχα (Ex 12:21), Mk 14:12; pass., Lk 22:7, I Co 5:7.†
