ἀπάγω

I. "to lead away, carry off", Od., Trag.:— Mid. "to take away for or with oneself", Hdt., Trag.:— Pass., ἐς ὀξὺ ἀπηγμένος "brought to a point, tapering off", Hdt.

2. intr. (sub. ἑαυτόν) "to retire, withdraw, march away", id=Hdt., Xen.; cf. ἄπαγε.

II. "to bring back, bring home", Hom., attic

III. "to return what one owes, render, pay", τὸν φόρον Ar., Thuc.

IV. "to arrest and carry off", παρά τινα Hdt.:—esp. as attic lawterm, "to bring before a magistrate and accuse", Dem.:— then, "to carry off to prison", Plat., etc.

V. "to lead away" from the subject, id=Plat., etc.
