2. metaph. "to shoot forth, come to light", of men; ἀνθρώπου φύσιν βλαστών "born" in man's nature, Soph.; βλαστάνει ἀπιστία id=Soph.

Etym. The Root is ΒΛΑΣΤ, v. βλαστεῖν, βλαστή.
