I. "a turning about, twisting", Plat.
II. intr. "a turning or wheeling about", of men "turning to bay", Soph.; ἐπιστροφαὶ κακῶν "renewed assaults" of ills, id=Soph.:—of ships, "a putting about, tacking", Thuc.
2. "a turn" of affairs, "reaction", id=Thuc.
3. "attention paid to" a person or thing, "regard", Soph., etc.
4. "a moving up and down in" a place, δωμάτων ἐπιστροφαί "occupation" of them, Aesch.; ξενοτίμους ἐπ. δωμάτων, of the duties of hospitality, id=Aesch.
