I. like μιμνήσκομαι, to be mindful of a person or thing, c. gen., Il.:— "to turn one's mind" to a thing, φύγαδε μνώοντο id=Il.
II. "to woo for one's bride, to court", c. acc. pers., Od.
2. "to sue for, solicit" a favour or office, Lat. ambire, Hdt.
