I. "to take or receive before", Eur., Dem., etc.
2. "to take or seize beforehand", Dem.; πρ. ὅπως.. "to provide" that.., Dem.; προλαβὼν προεγνωκότας ὑμᾶς "first procured" your vote of condemnation, id=Dem.
3. "to take before, take in preference", τι πρό τινος Soph.
4. "to take away or off before", προὔλαβον μόγις πόδα Eur.
II. "to be beforehand with, anticipate",
