HYDRODYNAM'ICS, noun That branch of natural philosophy which treat of the phenomena of water and other fluids, whether in motion or at rest; of their equilibrium, motion, cohesion, pressure, resistance, etc. It comprehends both hydrostatics and hydraulics.
