MISE, noun meze. [Latin mitto.]

1. In law, an issue to be tried at the grand assize.

2. Expense; cost.

3. A tax or tallage; in Wales, an honorary gift of the people to a new king or prince of Wales; also, a tribute paid in the county Palatine of Chester at the change of the owner of the earldoms.
