Anthocarpous

An′tho‐car″pous (�), a. [Gr. ἄνθοσ flower + καρπόσ fruit.] (Bot.) Having some portion of the floral envelopes attached to the pericarp to form the fruit, as in the checkerberry, the mulberry, and the pineapple.
