Cal″ci‐fy (kăl″sĭ‐fī), v. t. [imp. & p. p.Calcified (–fīd); p. pr. & vb. n.Calcifying.] [L. calx, calcis, lime + -fy.] To make stony or calcareous by the deposit or secretion of salts of lime.
