Cap″i‐tate (kăp″ĭ‐tā̍t), a. [L. capitatus fr. caput head.] 1. Headlike in form; also, having the distal end enlarged and rounded, as the stigmas of certain flowers.
2. (Bot.) Having the flowers gathered into a head.
