Cav″il (kăv″ĭl), v. i. [imp. & p. p.CaviledorCavilled (�); p. pr. & vb. n.CavilingorCavilling.] [L. cavillari to practice jesting, to censure, fr. cavilla bantering jests, sophistry: cf. OF. caviller.] To raise captious and frivolous objections; to find fault without good reason.
