Dichroism

Di″chro‐ism (?), n. [Gr. � two-colored; δι- = δίσ- twice + � color.] (Opt.) The property of presenting different colors by transmitted light, when viewed in two different directions, the colors being unlike in the direction of unlike or unequal axes.
