E‐met″ic (?), a. [L. emeticus, Gr. �, fr. � to vomit, akin to L. vomere: cf. F. émétique. See Vomit.] (Med.) Inducing to vomit; exciting the stomach to discharge its contents by the mouth. — n. A medicine which causes vomiting.
