En‐sconce″ (?), v. t. [imp. & p. p.Ensconced (?); imp. & p. p.Ensconcing (?).] To cover or shelter, as with a sconce or fort; to place or hide securely; to conceal.

She shall not see me: I will ensconce me behind the arras. Shak.
