Ghoul (go͞ol), n. [Per. ghōl an imaginary sylvan demon, supposed to devour men and animals: cf. Ar. ghūl, F. goule.] An imaginary evil being among Eastern nations, which was supposed to feed upon human bodies. [Written also ghole.] Moore.
