Gru″el (?), n. [OF. gruel, F. gruau; of German origin; cf. OHG. gruzzi groats, G. grütze, As. grūt. See Grout.] A light, liquid food, made by boiling meal of maize, oatmeal, or flour in water or milk; thin porridge.
