Hy′per‐cat′a‐lec″tic (?), a. [L. hypercatalecticus, hypercatalectus, Gr. �: cf. F. hypercatalectique. See Hyper-, and Catalectic.] (Pros.) Having a syllable or two beyond measure; as, a hypercatalectic verse.
