Laryngotomy

Lar′yn‐got″o‐my (?), n. [Gr. (�); (�), (�), the larynx + τέμνειν to cut: cf. F. laryngotomie.] (Surg.) The operation of cutting into the larynx, from the outside of the neck, for assisting respiration when obstructed, or for removing foreign bodies.
