Mac′ro‐dac″tyl (măk′rō̍‐dăk″tĭl), n. [Gr. μακροδάκτυλοσ long-fingered; μακρόσ long + δάκτυλοσ finger: cf. F. macrodactyle.] (Zoöl.) One of a group of wading birds (Macrodactyli) having very long toes. [Written also macrodactyle.]
