Omphalode

Om″pha‐lode (?), n. [Omphalo- + Gr. εἰ̑δοσ form.] (Bot.) The central part of the hilum of a seed, through which the nutrient vessels pass into the rhaphe or the chalaza; — called also omphalodium.
