Re‐sult″ant (?), a. [L. resultans, p. pr.: cf. F. résultant.] Resulting or issuing from a combination; existing or following as a result or consequence.

Resultant forceormotion(Mech.), a force which is the result of two or more forces acting conjointly, or a motion which is the result of two or more motions combined. See Composition of forces, under Composition.
