Ron′ca‐dor″ (rŏṉ′kȧ‐dōr″), n. [Sp., a snorer, fr. roncar to snore. So called in allusion to the grunting noise made by them on being taken from the water.] (Zoöl.) Any one of several species of California sciænoid food fishes, especially Roncador Stearnsi, which is an excellent market fish, and the red roncador (Corvina, orJohnius, saturna).
