Sarcobasis

‖Sar‐cob″a‐sis (?), n.; pl.Sarcobases (#). [NL., fr. Gr. σάρξ, σάρκοσ, flesh + � base.] (Bot.) A fruit consisting of many dry indehiscent cells, which contain but few seeds and cohere about a common style, as in the mallows.
