Schis‐mat″ic (sĭz‐măt″ĭk; so nearly all orthoëpists), a. [L. schismaticus, Gr. �: cf. F. schismatique.] Of or pertaining to schism; implying schism; partaking of the nature of schism; tending to schism; as, schismatic opinions or proposals.
