Spin″dle‐worm′ (?), n.(Zoöl.) The larva of a noctuid moth (Achatodes zeæ) which feeds inside the stalks of corn (maize), sometimes causing much damage. It is smooth, with a black head and tail and a row of black dots across each segment.
