‖Syn′i‐ze″sis (?), n. [L., fr. Gr. �, fr. � to sit together; σύν with + � to sit.] 1. (Med.) An obliteration of the pupil of the eye.

2. (Gram.) A contraction of two syllables into one; synecphonesis.
