‖Tip″u‐la (?), n.; pl. L. Tipulæ (#), E. Tipulas (#). (Zoöl.) Any one of many species of long-legged dipterous insects belonging to Tipula and allied genera. They have long and slender bodies. See Crane fly, under Crane.
