‖Vel″i‐ger (vĕl″ĭ‐jẽr), n. [NL., fr. L. velum a veil + gerere bear.] (Zoöl.) Any larval gastropod or bivalve mollusk in the stage when it is furnished with one or two ciliated membranes for swimming.
