ταλαιπωρέω, -ῶ

(< ταλαίπωρος), [in LXX Chiefly for שָׁדַד pu.;]

1. to do hard labour, suffer hardship or distress: Ja 4:9.

2. In cl. occasionally trans., to weary, distress (so Ps 16 (17):9, Is 33:1).†
