ὑδρία, -ας, ἠ

(< ὕδωρ), [in LXX for כַּד;]

1. prop., a water-pot or jar: Jo 2:6, 74:28.

2. More freq. in Attic = ἄγγος, a pot, urn or jar of any kind, as for holding wine, coins, etc. (v. Rutherford, NPhr., 23; MM, xxv).†
