ἄδικος
Etym. δίκη
I. of persons, "wrong-doing, unrighteous, unjust", Hes., Hdt., etc.; ἀδικώτατος Soph.:— ἄδ. εἴς τι "unjust in" a thing, ἔς τινα "towards" a person, Hdt.; περί τινα Xen.; c. inf. "so unjust as to".. NTest.
2. ἄδ. ἵπποι "obstinate, unmanageable", Xen.
II. of things, "wrongly done, wrong, unjust", ἔργματα Theogn., Hdt., etc.; τὸ δίκαιον καὶ τὸ ἄδ., τὰ δίκαια καὶ ἄδικα right and "wrong", Plat.
III. adv. -κως, Solon, etc.; τοὺς ἀδ. θνήσκοντας Soph.; εἴτε δικαίως εἴτε ἀδ. "jure an injuria", Hdt.; οὐκ ἀδ. not "without reason", Plat.
