Etym. σχῆμα
I. "elegant in figure, mien and bearing, graceful", Plat.; comp. -έστερος; Sup. -έστατος, id=Plat., Xen.
2. in bad sense, "with an outside show of goodness, specious", Eur.
II. of things, "decent, becoming", id=Eur., etc.; τὸ εὔσχημον, Lat. decorum, Plat.:—adv. -μόνως, "with grace and dignity, like a gentleman", Ar., Xen.
III. "noble, honourable", in rank, NTest.
