{ Mel′am‐py″rin (?), Mel′am‐py″rite (?), } n. [NL. Melampyrum cowwheat; Gr. μέλασ black + πυρόσ wheat.] (Chem.) The saccharine substance dulcite; — so called because found in the leaves of cowwheat (Melampyrum). See Dulcite.
