Re‐frig″er‐ate (–āt), v. t. [imp. & p. p.Refrigerated (–ā′tĕd); p. pr. & vb. n.Refrigerating.] [L. refrigeratus, p. p. of refrigerare; pref. re- re- + frigerare to make cool, fr. frigus, frigoris, coolness. See Frigid.] To cause to become cool; to make or keep cold or cool.
